What is the Speccy Tour?

Speccy Tour is a Sinclair Spectrum games tournament running officially since 2001. Created by Michael Bruhn and organized by several people along the time. At the beginning was Michael, later were Iván Ruiz Etxabe, Aleksandar Lukic and Kak, and last two editions have been Michael, Alex and me with invaluable help of Pete Fifield.

Unitl now there weren't prizes, only the honour of the winners and the fun people get playing games they didn't know or games they were actual fanatics. One of the pleasures of this tournament is discovering games you never played before, or to reach that level you never imagine could get.

It's a long tournament (3 months), and it's hard for people to resist unitl the end, too many people, including me, have given up before tournament ends thinking they couldn't get further, but I encourage every player to play whole tournament because I know that if they persist they could get in the top 3 even win as I did in 2004.

The webpage which host the project is HARP, thanks to Pete Fifield for his support. The main page is at www.speccytour.com where you can find a history of the tournament, and all the information you need to take part on it.

I'm going to inform you about what's happening in the tournament while it's played and I hope to follow with this after it finish to tell you how will be the next edition (2007).

I love this tournament. I enjoy a lot playing old games with only two buttons. Just 15 minutes of intense playing with no worry about learning hundreds of button combinations and unabordable rules. I dont need 3D ultrarealistic scenarios for funny.

Speccy is here again.

Good play
