I'm a bit sad because the tournament has finished, but happy because we have had another edition and I'm sure we'll have another one next year. Along the week I'm going to confirm every recording, and the final leaderboard will be set. Anyway, it's clear we have a new Speccy Tour winner... another Alex ;), and we have found another great rookie player (Stack).
This edition we have not too much players signed up, and only 16 players submitted recordings, but only 10 of them have sent recordings for 8 games, so we'll have a 10 players final leaderboard.
I don't know of you enjoy the tournament, if so, please leave some comment...

I enjoyed the tournament a great deal and look forward to participating again. It was a good selection for me as 1982-85 was my era on the Spectrum and Alex chose some classics from that period. I may not be as competitive another year but will be back to try.
Congratulations to Gazzosa, who just kept improving and improving and played all 10 games on the tour with great skill.
Like many others I decided that Codename Mat was just too much to learn and it was one game I missed back in the day. I'm very impressed with Sabre's perserverance.
For me, Gotcha was the only poor selection and I just couldn't bear the idea of competing in it. It just doesn't seem worthy of the great Spectrum.
My highlight was getting 5th in Adroid 2 as I was hopeless at it in 1983 and I loved it second time around searching through that claustrophobic maze. Costa Panayi has gone up again in my estimation.
Of course I was delighted too to get back into Turmoil and Dictator, two favourites of mine. Dictator was one of my first Speccy games and the cynicism in it is superbly written. I got my score looting even the helicopter funds and escaping through the mountains on foot (probably disguised as a woman).
I feel like I have joined a very nice club with the Speccy Tour which manages to generate a really friendly atmosphere remotely - in itself a great skill - so thanks to you Eduardo and to Frankie and the other guys concerned with running it.
The 2009 Tour really is something to look forward to. Let me know if I can help in any way.
I wish all Tour participants a very happy Xmas and New Year.
The Venerable Stack
Well said VS. You have proved yourself to be a worthy competitor for the Tour and I hope to see you again next year :)
I noticed that this is the first time without Spanish players among the first three, and that France and England - the Spectrum's home country, by the way - manage to get a medal. I am especially glad for Paul, although he knocked me off the top scores of Lotus Esprit and Daley Thompson on the very last day of the Tour (with quite a great performance, it ought to be said). He has been one of the most consistent players, with so many top scores throughout the years, and it was a real pity that he hadn't managed to conquer at least a bronze medal so far.
As for me, I started much as an outsider, due to my absence from the last editions of the Tour, and, at least for the first days, without considering the idea of becoming the champion. I thought that a 6th-7th place would have been more realistic. I'm happy not to have proven myself a good prophet ;)
I wish a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you, and look forward to carry the "Spectrum spirit" on in 2009! :D
Errata: I meant "proven" not "proved" and "knocked out" not "knocked off". Please excuse my bad English :)
Thank you very much one more time for arranging the tournament.
I enjoyed a lot playing... Unfortunately this time I hadn't enough time to try all the games. Even I probably made some mistakes sending wrong snapshots... :(
My congratulations to Alessandro, Stack and all the players who took part... I think the winner has shown himself as strong as Alex did previously. So next year will be really challenging.
See you soon !
